Woodturning 101 - Video 3 - Turning a Twig Pot

The twig pot is a project that emphasizes proper proportion and symmetry along with the skills it takes to create it. In the twig pot video, you’ll learn how to incorporate a series of “ogee” curves to create an overall symmetrical look that’s nicely shaped and pleasing to look at.

In this video, you’ll see how to properly use the spindle gouge, roughing gouge, skew chisel, and parting tool. Drilling the hole for the glass vial with a No. 2 MT drill bit, creating a tapered neck, and installing the vial are also covered.
