Harvested from ancient bogs in Eastern Europe, this bog oak lay deep in oxygen starved waters since the dawn of man. An abundance of tannic acid and minerals in the water causes the bog oak to take on a rich brown to deep black coloring. Radio-carbon dated to be approximately 5,600 years old, Bog Oak is considered by many to be the rarest wood on earth.
