Ancient Bog Oak Ring Blank Stabilized

Harvested from ancient bogs in Eastern Europe, these beautiful Bog Oak ring blanks have been radio-carbon dated to be 5,600 years old. From the dawn of man until now, this bog oak laid deep in oxygen-starved waters abundant in tannic acid and minerals which caused rich brown and deep black coloring.

We stabilize each Bog Oak ring blank to enhance color, figure and add stability. Stabilizing also eliminates pores and makes achieving a glass-like finish easier.

Considered by many to be the rarest wood on earth, Bog Oak makes a great looking ring and a great conversation piece too!
