Class description:
A handcrafted peppermill is a project that can be enjoyed every day. Freshly ground pepper, spices, and salt make mealtime more flavorful, and using a custom mill you’ve created is very rewarding, too.
In this class, students will turn three distinctly different types of peppermills using premium mechanisms. Emphasis will be placed on developing an eye for good design elements and proportion. In addition, Mike will help students explore different design options for mills, including alternative designs. Proper tooling techniques and sharpening will be emphasized throughout the class so that students leave with a good understanding of the fundamentals of woodturning.

Developing an eye for good form
Understanding and implementing proper tool control
Do’s and Don’ts of creating a great fit on mills
Sanding and finishing techniques and coloring options for projects
Proper sharpening techniques
Options for food-safe finishes on mills and kitchenware
Utilizing stains, dyes, and other finishing options

Our workshop is located in beautiful Provo, Utah, just 40 minutes south of Salt Lake City.
Upon registering for a class, we will send you a packet containing helpful information for planning your trip, including hotels near us and other fun things to do in Utah.
In the event of cancellation:
We reserve the right to cancel workshops up to 4 weeks before the class date. In the event of a workshop cancellation, full tuition will be refunded. Please only make airline reservations up to 4 weeks before the first day of class, as we do not reimburse for any travel expenses incurred.
Student Cancellation:
Cancellations less than 6 weeks before the start of class may be subject to a 50% cancellation fee.
